Limb Deformity and Malalignment Treatment in Greater Detroit MI
Some children are born with deformities of the arms or legs and some develop slowly over time. This includes conditions where bones grow at an angle (for example knock knees or bow legs). Bones can be rotated as well (intoeing or out-toeing). Dr. Minnock treats these with observation, bracing, casting, physical therapy and surgery depending on the amount of deformity. Often times, surgery is not needed right away. The age of the child, amount of deformity and how it affects their function and activity all help determine treatment.
